Hands down, this is my favorite DIY salt scrub of all time and goodness knows I need me some salt scrub right now!

What with this dry winter, sickness and my hands constantly either being washed or in home cleaners, my hands have become a mess!

So what do I do when my hands become a dry, brittle, rough, sad mess? Make my favorite salt scrub!

Plus, it’s easy guys. This literally took me 3 minutes to make and I just leave it by my kitchen sink.

Here are the ingredients:

  1. 1 and 1/2 cup of Himalayan pink salt: fine textured
  2. 1/4 cup of Baking Soda
  3. 1/3 cup of Coconut Oil
  4. 1/3 cup of Olive Oil
  5. 6-10 drops of Lavender and/or Lemon Essential Oil (However, you can use any flavor you wish)

There is one key part of my process and it’s a game changer. First, I melt the coconut oil and then I mix the olive oil with it. This ensures that, once the salt scrub has been sitting for awhile, it won’t solidify. Brilliant right? Thank you, thank you. Wink.

Why do I use these ingredients?

Himalayan pink salt is detoxifying, helps balance the bodies PH, Improves the bodies mineral status, reduces muscle cramps and so much more!

Baking Soda exfoliates, softens skin, helps with itching, and more.

Coconut oil is antibacterial, nourishing for your skin and helps add moisture, which is amazing.

Olive Oil has some of the same properties, but it doesn’t solidify once cooled like coconut oil. It also has strong anti inflammatory properties. Score!

Lavender and Lemon oil are both great. Lavender is soothing while lemon is cleansing and I honestly, I like how they smell together!

Once that step is done, you simply mix the ingredients together, store them in an air tight container and you’re good to go!

I hope you find this helpful and enjoyable.
