Chocolate, Coconut Green Smoothie: Vegan, organic and Delicious.

I happened upon this smoothie by accident. At least, it was sort of an accident.

Whilst making my morning vegan, green, energy boosting smoothie, or attempting to, I came up with this concoction and, slap me twice and call me silly because this tastes AMAZING!!!

Besides is chocolatey, coconut goodness, two of my favorite flavors, it’s nutritious and TOTALLY VEGAN.

Want to be a partaker? Here is how you make it the chocolate coconut smoothie!

First off, I use Orgain protein powder, which is the kind so often seen and bought from Costco. Because of a dairy allergy and Whey/Soy intolerance, I stick with Vegan Protein powder. Not only does this taste great, but it’s inexpensive and agrees with my body.

It’s also dairy and gluten free and totally organic, hence the name.

However, feel free to use your protein powder of choice.

Ingredients:

  1. 1 scoop of Chocolate Vegan protein powder.
  2. 1 handful of organic spinach
  3. 1/2 cup of unsweetened coconut milk
  4. 1 heaping spoonful of organic canned coconut milk
  5. A few drops of organic coconut extract
  6. 1 tsp. Organic cocoa powder
  7. 1 tsp stevia or natural sweetener of choice
  8. 1 spoonful of coconut oil (optional. I like the added healthy fat)
  9. 1 tsp of diatomaceous earth (optional. Read about benefit of DE HERE.)

How to make:

Simply add ingredients to a blender and then add water and ice as desired and blend. Pour in your favorite smoothie cup and drink!

I love adding spinach to smoothies because, not only is spinach rich it vitamins, but it’s so mild and flavor and is easily hidden.

If you’d like to adjust, go ahead and do so.

When my smoothie is done, I like to scoop and spoonful of chilled canned coconut milk, organic of course, on top! It’s like topping off a healthy sweet treat with whipped cream, but so much better!

Enjoy! Here’s to a healthier morning and healthier, sweeter life!
