Monday Motivation time! Yay!Time to Be Brave!

How many of y’all are feeling the winter blues start to creep in? I know I am and I’m not excited about it.

In spite of that however, my family and I decided to take a little drive yesterday up a canyon very near our home to see if we could get close to the snow. Last weekend, it snowed on the tippy tops of the mountains by our home. My kids are so excited for the snow, but Momma… not so much!

Well, we drove… and drove… and drove… and then I panicked!

You see, I am not a lover of heights. No, not in the least and I’d even say I hate them, but my nephew has repeatedly told me that we shouldn’t use the word “hate.” I agree, and so I am trying my hardest.

Well, this drive we went on is a little sketchy in some areas and you have to venture just feet away from sheer cliffs to let other cars pass, as it’s a one lane road in areas.

Needless to say, I was hyperventilating at moments and verbally berating my husband. Am I proud? No, of course I’m not proud, but it is what it is and I’ll not be speaking with him for a week.

Kidding… totally kidding… I think, but for reals, I was terrified.

At the end of it all though, we didn’t die and my husband drove so carefully. So careful that, though the had the largest truck up there, pretty much every one and their dog, horses, sheep, cattle and goldfish were passing us… even a Honda Civic! Ha!

Not only did we not die, but we enjoyed family time, we laughed and we were rewarded with a beautiful view of the snow capped mountains and the beautifully painted mountain side.

Why am I telling you this? Well, I’ve found that, in life in general, we sometimes have to get outside of our comfort zone to experience the best life has to offer. After all, at the top of the “hardest climb” is the most magnificent view.

We all know that a lot of those “climbs” are mental climbs and let me tell you, I was MENTAL!

Over all, I’m glad we did it and got to experience the “top of the mountain” together. Will I be doing it again… probably not any time soon. My husband may just have to twist my arm, let, hair and fingers to get me there.

Moral of the story? Don’t be afraid to climb those mountains Y’all. Even if the way to the top is a little sketchy.Be brave!

Here to the sweet life!
